When director Jan Vitters founded Vitters Shipyard in 1990, the yard primarily focused on building hulls. Soon thereafter director Louis Hamming came aboard. The yard at that time consisted of a small team, one building hall and a few containers serving as offices
Vitters Shipyard delivered their first yacht in 1993, the 28 metre (92 ft) Aphrodite. Soon therafter followed by the 48.5 metre (160 ft) Thalia. THis yacht was at the time one of the largest sailing yachts worldwide. Both Aphrodite (I) and Thalia have many nautical miles under their keel, yet still perform well and to owners’ and crews’ satisfaction.
The people who consider building a superyacht are successful individuals who have nothing to prove to anyone. They have free will and spirit and simply want their vision to be realised – exactly how they envision it – without concessions or compromises. Over the past 20 years, Vitters Shipyard has proven to be one of the world’s leading builders of large custom sailing yachts of 30 metres (100 ft) and above.
Lead by managing directors Jan Vitters and Louis Hamming, this Dutch yard manifests what clients envision. Creative minds and skilful hands build yachts of superiour quality, on time and on budget.
